Margaret Alva, the joint candidate chosen by Opposition for the vice presidential election, filed her nomination papers for the put up on Tuesday and was accompanied by a bunch of leaders.
The vice presidential ballot will probably be held on August 6 to elect the successor to M Venkaiah Naidu, whose time period ends on August 10.
Alva was joined by prime opposition leaders, together with Congress’ Rahul Gandhi, NCP’s Sharad Pawar, CPI-M’s Sitaram Yechury, CPI’s D Raja, Chief of Opposition within the Rajya Sabha Mallikarjun Kharge and chief of the Congress within the Lok Sabha Adhir Ranjan Chowdhury, throughout her nomination submitting.

“It’s a troublesome election undoubtedly, however I’m not afraid to tackle the problem,” Alva had stated on Monday whereas thanking opposition events who've supported her candidature.
The 80-year-old is pitted towards NDA’s Jagdeep Dhankhar, who resigned as West Bengal governor after being nominated on Saturday night.
Former Rajasthan governor and Congress veteran Alva was unanimously chosen because the joint opposition candidate for the put up of vice chairman on Sunday.
All MPs of the Lok Sabha and Rajya Sabha, together with nominated members, comprise the electoral faculty for the vice chairman’s election.
