A case has been registered towards Karnataka Tourism, Ecology and Surroundings Minister Anand Singh for allegedly threatening a household, whose members later tried to set themselves on fireplace, over a land dispute, police mentioned on Wednesday.
The FIR has been registered towards the minister and three others following a grievance lodged by D Polappa, underneath the Prevention of Atrocities In opposition to SC-ST Act, and sections 504 and 506 of the IPC, they mentioned.
The case pertains to a dispute over a chunk of land in a village within the district, between members of a group and Mr Polappa, who belongs to SC group.
Throughout the Minister's go to to the village on Tuesday, the members of the group have requested him to assist resolve the dispute.
In his grievance, Mr Polappa alleged that the minister had threatened to burn his complete household.
The complainant arrived close to the Hospet rural police station on Tuesday night time with 5 of his family. All of them tried to set themselves on fireplace. Nonetheless, they had been rescued and brought to hospital, police mentioned.
