Thirty-two kg Gold, reportedly value a number of crores, was looted from a financial institution in Chennai this night. Three males in masks locked the staff in a rest room earlier than they robbed the FedBank Gold Mortgage within the metropolis's Arumbakkam space.
"They took the keys of the sturdy room and locked the staff in a rest room and escaped with the gold in carry luggage. In line with the department, 32 kg gold was stolen," Police Commissioner Shankar Jeewal defined the modus operandi of the robbers.
The theft was suspected to be an inside job, stated police.
"One among them is suspected to be a gift worker of the department," TS Anbu, Joint Commissioner of Police, instructed NDTV.
In the meantime, in a video that NDTV could not independently confirm, a safety guard who claimed to be hooked up to the gold mortgage workplace, says, "I turned unconscious after I consumed the comfortable drink they supplied me".
"All are high-quality now. No worker is unconscious. Since one in every of them was an worker, the guard did not suspect something," a police officer added.
The department was closed right now and just a few have been current for some accounts work.
The police have fashioned particular groups to catch the culprits.
