A Lingayat seer in Karnataka was discovered lifeless at his mutt in Belagavi district early this morning, officers have stated. 

Basava Siddalinga Swami, seer of Sri Guru Madiwaleshwar Math, was discovered hanging at his quarter by his followers and attendants, they added.

Sources say the seer was reportedly upset over a video through which two girls had been seen discussing the alleged circumstances of sexual assault in some mutts in Karnataka.
