The web sites for plenty of main US airports have been briefly knocked offline Monday after a cyberattack promoted by a pro-Russian hacking group.
The disruptions affected airport web sites in cities similar to Atlanta, Chicago, Los Angeles, New York, Phoenix and St Louis, and have been carried out by way of distributed denial of service (DDoS) assaults, which contain taking an internet site offline by flooding it with site visitors.
The airport web sites have been focused after the pro-Russian hacking group often called "KillNet" revealed a listing of websites and inspired its followers to assault them.
The DDoS assaults solely affected the public-facing web sites of the airports, which provide flight and companies data and do not need any influence on operations.
Atlanta's Hartsfield-Jackson Airport mentioned its web site is "up and working after an incident early this morning that made it inaccessible to the general public."

Many of the airport web sites focused gave the impression to be functioning usually after being quickly shut down.
KillNet claimed accountability final week for assaults on plenty of US state authorities web sites, and it has taken goal at different nations opposing Russia's invasion of Ukraine.
The US Cybersecurity and Infrastructure Safety Company (CISA) mentioned it was "conscious of experiences of DDoS assaults focusing on a number of US airport web sites."
