Ukraine's President Volodymyr Zelensky on Friday mentioned Ukrainian forces have recaptured almost 2,500 sq. kilometres (965 sq. miles) of territory from Russia in a counteroffensive that started late final month.

"This week alone, our troopers liberated 776 sq. kilometres of territory within the east of our nation and 29 settlements, together with six in Lugansk area," Zelensky mentioned.

"In whole, 2,434 sq. kilometres of our land and 96 settlements have already been liberated because the starting of this offensive operation," he added in his every day speech shared on social media.
