The CPI(M) on Thursday hit out on the Centre, saying India’s abstention from a UN decision on the Israel-Palestine subject singalled that it was siding ”with oppressors” of the Palestinian folks.

On December 31, India abstained from a decision adopted by the United Nations Basic Meeting that requested the Worldwide Court docket of Justice to render its opinion on the authorized penalties of Israel’s extended occupation of Palestinian territories.

The decision was handed with 87 nations supporting and 26 opposing it. India and 52 different nations abstained.
