Indian-Origin US Man Drives Tesla Off Cliff With Wife, 2 Children Inside

A 41-year-old Indian-origin man has been arrested within the US on suspicion of tried homicide and youngster abuse after he deliberately drove a Tesla off a cliff together with his spouse and two kids inside, based on media experiences.

Dharmesh A Patel of Pasadena, California, will likely be despatched to San Mateo County Jail after he's launched from a hospital, the freeway patrol stated in a press release.

The rescue concerned firefighters who rappelled down the cliff to avoid wasting the 2 kids, a 4-year-old woman, and a 9-year-old boy. A helicopter crew rescued the 2 adults from the car, NBC Information, an American broadcast tv community, stated.

The rescue was described as nearly miraculous, The New York Instances newspaper stated.

The Tesla was 250 to 300 toes down, based on the freeway patrol.

"Based mostly on the proof collected, investigators developed possible trigger to imagine this incident was an intentional act," it stated in a press release.

Brian Pottenger, the incident commander for the California Division of Forestry and Fireplace Safety, stated witnesses known as 911 after the crash.

He stated that it was "very, very uncommon" for individuals to outlive such a steep fall and that the youngsters's automobile seats could have saved their lives.
