An earthquake, with a magnitude 6.3 at a depth of two km (1.2 miles), struck the Turkey-Syria border area on Monday, the European Mediterranean Seismological Centre (EMSC) mentioned.
Two Reuters witnesses reported a robust quake and additional injury to buildings in central Antakya which was hit by two huge earthquakes two weeks in the past, inflicting tens of hundreds of deaths and destroying buildings and infrastructure.
Different witnesses mentioned Turkish rescue groups have been operating round after the most recent quake, checking individuals have been unhurt.
Muna Al Omar, a resident, mentioned she was in a tent in a park in central Antakya when the earthquake hit.
"I assumed the earth was going to separate open below my ft," she mentioned, crying as she held her 7-year-old son in her arms.
"Is there going to be one other aftershock?" she requested.
