Rajya Sabha Chairman Jagdeep Dhankhar has referred the names of 12 Opposition MPs to the Committee of Privileges of Rajya Sabha following allegations of breach of privilege through the Finances session. The Committee is anticipated to look at, examine and submit a report back to the Chairman, who will then take a name on the motion wanted. The MPs from the Congress and the AAP have been accused of "disorderly conduct" -- repeatedly getting into the nicely of the Home, shouting slogans, and obstructing proceedings.
In line with a Rajya Sabha bulletin, 9 of the MPs are from the Congress and three from the Aam Aadmi Social gathering (AAP).
The Congress MPs are Shaktisinh Gohil, Naranbhai J Rathwa, Syed Nasir Hussain, Kumar Ketkar, Imran Prattapgarhi, L Hanumanthaiah, Phulo Devi Netam, Jebi Mather Hisham, and Ranjeet Ranjan.
The AAP members are Sanjay Singh, Sushil Kumar Gupta, and Sandeep Kumar Pathak.
Within the bulletin dated February 18, the Rajya Sabha Secretariat stated, "...the Chairman...has referred a query of alleged breach of privilege arising out of gross disorderly conduct displayed by (the MPs)....in violation of guidelines and etiquette of Rajya Sabha by repeatedly getting into the nicely of the council, shouting slogans and persistently and wilfully obstructing the proceedings of the council, compelling the Chair to repeatedly adjourn the sittings of the Council."
