Sonu Nigam’s musical night in Mumbai on Monday evening took an unlucky flip when Swapnil Prakash Phaterpekar, a Shiv Sena (UBT) chief, barged in and manhandled the singer and his staff. When singer Rabbani Mustafa Khan (Nigam’s guru, Ustad Ghulam Mustafa Khan’s son) got here to his rescue, he too was pushed off the stage.
“Round 10pm, some males from Shiv Sena pushed viewers members and made their manner backstage. They misbehaved with Sonu and pushed my husband off the stage. He was rushed to the hospital,” says Namrata Gupta Khan, Rabbani’s spouse. “How may such an unlucky incident happen at a live performance of Sonu Nigam, who is thought for being so cordial together with his followers?” she provides.
“I fell on the steps. Rabbani, who tried to avoid wasting me, was pushed from behind. He may have died. I filed a criticism as a result of individuals should give it some thought once they power somebody to take a selfie. Some persons are simply so unfair in relation to asking for selfies and photos. There was no different cause he’d behave so aggressively,” Nigam tells us.
Pageant organiser Suprada Phaterpekar tweeted, “Whereas Shri Sonu Nigam was being ushered off the stage after his efficiency. my brother was attempting to take a selfie with him... The one who fell was taken to Zen hospital & was discharged after examination. Shri Sonu Nigam is unharmed... We now have formally apologised to Sonu sir & his staff for the incident. Please donot consider baseless rumours and people attempting to politicize the matter. (sic)”
