The Congress in Karnataka on Monday inducted a businessman, who's alleged to be a type of who performed a key position in ‘Operation Kamala’, which led to the collapse of Congress-JD(S) coalition authorities in 2019.
“Operation Kamala" (Operation Lotus), coined by opposition events, refers to an alleged try of the BJP to engineer defection of opposition legislators to put in its personal authorities and to make sure its stability.
Uday Okay M, also referred to as ‘Kadalur Uday Gowda, was welcomed into the celebration fold within the presence of state Congress President D Okay Shivakumar.
“Uday is being inducted into the Congress and he has promised to work for strengthening the celebration in Mandya district. He's becoming a member of the celebration with none situations. His becoming a member of has been authorized by all native leaders," Shivakumar instructed reporters.
Responding to a query about inducting Uday, regardless of his alleged position in engineering defections by Operation Kamala, he stated: “…he (Uday) may need accomplished issues whereas within the reverse celebration….A Manju, Srinivas Gowda, Gubbi Vasu, Shivalinge Gowda, Madhu Bangarappa (all MLAs/former MLAs)- they’ve shifted and are available again to Congress. It’s politics, there will probably be compulsions."
