The Russian fighter jet had on Tuesday dumped gasoline on the American drone after which collided with it, inflicting the drone to crash, the US navy had mentioned, slamming the manoeuvre as "reckless".

The US navy had mentioned that "a number of instances earlier than the collision, the Su-27s dumped gasoline on and flew in entrance of the MQ-9 in a reckless, environmentally unsound and unprofessional method."

Moscow had denied inflicting the crash of the drone, which the Pentagon mentioned was on a routine ISR (intelligence, surveillance, reconnaissance) mission.
