A number of motorists and automobiles had a slim escape as an iron pillar grid collapsed in the course of a busy street in Karnataka, confirmed a video, elevating questions on the standard of infrastructure within the state.
The incident was reported from Hubballi, the industrial hub of Karnataka, this afternoon round 12:30.
The pillar, supporting an overhead railway bridge, will be seen tilting after which collapsing suddenly, lacking a water tanker and a motorist, confirmed the video. Nobody was harmed.
"Peak gauge has been put in with a vertical clearance of 4.2m for shielding the Railway bridge no 253. It's suspected that some automobile had hit the peak gauge within the previous nights and the construction had obtained additional weakened and as a consequence of vibrations of street automobiles, the construction tilted on one facet and subsequetly fell down," the south western railway mentioned in an announcement.
"The construction has been eliminated and new top gauge shall be supplied. Additional, rumble strips and extra signages shall be supplied on the street instantly," it added additional.
