The Privileges Committee of the Lok Sabha will probe on Friday the criticism of misconduct in opposition to Congress chief Adhir Ranjan Chowdhury, who was suspended from the decrease home final week.

The committee, chaired by BJP member Sunil Kumar Singh, is about to deliberate on the movement adopted by the Lok Sabha on August 10 on the “gross, deliberate and repeated misconduct” of Chowdhury in utter disregard to the Home and authority of the Chair.

Lok Sabha Speaker Om Birla had objected to the behaviour of Chowdhury and BJP member Virendra Singh throughout the debate on the no-confidence movement in opposition to the federal government.

Singh, the BJP member from Ballia, had tendered an apology to the Chair for his conduct within the Home, and escaped motion.

Parliamentary Affairs Minister Pralhad Joshi termed Chowdhury’s actions as “ordinary" and deliberate”.

Joshi stated Chowdhury had repeatedly disrupted Prime Minister Narendra Modi’s reply to the talk on no-confidence movement and likewise interrupted speeches of Dwelling Minister Amit Shah and different ministers within the Lok Sabha.

“Regardless of repeated requests and repeated warnings from the Chair additionally, he has not improved himself. And, all the time in his debates, he makes baseless expenses," Joshi stated earlier than shifting a movement for Chowdhury’s suspension from the Home pending investigation by the Privileges Committee of the Lok Sabha.
